Mansfield Chamber of Commerce has Named New Board Members

The Mansfield Chamber of Commerce held a membership meeting in December where new board members were elected.  The upcoming board will be welcoming Marjorie Pierson,  Dwaine Dierksen and Larry Dennis to the board to fill the places vacated by Judy Lorenz, Paul DelFino and Mardi Ladaceur , while Sheri Alsup was re-elected to her position.

Mansfield Community Center Events | Princesses Swap Gowns

There is a dress swap planned at the Mansfield Community Center on February 18-19.   For a small fee, a dress can be offered for sale and another princess can glow in the beauty of that gown.  You can learn more the MCC Activities page on the Community Center Website.

Congratulations - BackDoor Video has MOVED

Backdoor Video has had a successful business — so much so that owners, Rob Pierson and Marge and Murl Peirson have decided to focus on the video rental business AND move to a new location.

And when I say NEW, I mean new.  They are in a new building on West Commercial and will have a ribbon cutting today to celebrate the move.

BackDoor Video has moved to a new (really new) building on WEST Commercial.  Contact information remains the same.

Marge, Murl and Rob have fully applied the focus of their business onto VIDEO RENTAL and Sales in the brand new structure that they completed a few weeks ago.

They will offer the same and better service for video rental and sales, plus a few unique gift choices.   They are still helping community visitors by monitoring the telephone for the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce and offering information for places to visit, places to move, ways Mansfield welcomes everyone.

Mansfield Businesses Planning for the Holidays

Mansfield businesses are gearing up to offer service to you for the Holidays.  Some will be having shopping specials that merit your attention.  I know it is kind of fun to hit the big city, but there are some businesses in Mansfield that compete with the Big Box Stores for decor gifts, books, toys and gift certificates for your gift list.

Santa’s Workshop |Mansfield Community Center | December 4

Santa’s workshop at the Mansfield Community Center will provide vendors a chance to offer their wares to Christmas shoppers.

Traditionally, the school children have a chance to check out the great, krafty gift ideas during the Workshop.

The date for 2009 is set at DECEMBER 4, 2009.  This is the only day that Santa’s Workshop is planned.

There will be a Breakfast with Santa on December 5, 2009 at the Community Center as further opportunity for kids to celebrate, but vendors will only be available on December 4th.

Chamber Board will be Holding Elections

The Mansfield Chamber of Commerce has elections coming up.

There is one post empty at present which was held by Mardie L. who decided to reduce her obligations. Two posts are expiring; those held by Judy Lorenz and Sheri “Staci” Alsup.

Judy says she has been on the board for several years. “I’ve enjoyed the experience and support the Chamber, but there are others in the community who could serve and enjoy the community involvement; I’m going to step aside so they can have a chance.” If you just felt a tap on your shoulder when you were reading that statement, you are one of those people who have talent and wisdom to offer your community — contact the Chamber at 924-3525 or someone on the board to get your chance.

Business After Hours — Times Three!

Upcoming Business After Hours: As many of you have been reminded by Sheri, a Business after Hours event has been planned for November 3, (Tuesday) from 5:00 pm till 6:00pm. Local businesses hosting the event include Sho-Me Real Estate, CROSSROADS Gifts and Decor, Top of the Line Salon. These businesses are all located in the recently renovated facility belonging to Sho-Me Real Estate on West Commercial Street in Mansfield. Please make every effort to come; you’ll be encouraging your neighbors and you’ll see some great facilities. The event is not limited to Chamber members, so tell your friends who do not belong to the Chamber.
